Happy Fall folks!
Had a fun/busy September that's wrapping up w/ a free afternoon show this Saturday (9/30) at The Porch Southern Fare and Juke Joint in Medford, MA from 1-4.
Things start to slow down a bit in October, but I'll be doing a lot of Songs & Stories concerts, doing both Johnny Cash and The Highwaymen. In 2024, in many of the towns that I've previously done those concerts, I'll be returning and doing the songs and stories of the great Willie Nelson. He's my all-time favorite artist and I'm really looking forward to it. This is a video of me doing Willie's song "You Wouldn't Cross the Street"

On Friday, October 20th, I'm going to be opening for Chris Knight, who is out on tour. I've admired his music for a long time. The New York Times has called Knight “the last of a dying breed...a taciturn loner with an acoustic guitar and a college degree,” while USA Today called him “a storyteller in the best traditions of Mellencamp and Springsteen". He's bringing a full band with him to the aforementioned Porch Southern Fare and Juke Joint. This is a ticketed concert at night and the advance tickets can be purchased at www.theporchsouthern.com.
I'll be doing lots of holiday concerts beginning in late December. I tried to motivate myself to record a CD of holiday songs recently, but I'm just not quite ready to spend a lot of hours recording and listening to Santa songs just yet. I imagine I'll have something ready by late November. If you have a spot you think would make sense for me to do a holiday concert, let me know. These are not country music concerts, just me performing some of my favorite holiday classics. I'm doing them at a number of locations and will be doing private Xmas parties etc as well. A couple people have asked me to record videos for them of a specific song they wanted to hear/watch. Those have been fun to do. If that's something of interest, let me know. People have done them for a spouse, loved one etc. Basically, I do the song and tell a story about the song. It comes out as a private YouTube video that I will share with you and you can then do whatever you like with it from there. A great virtual stocking stuffer.....possibly? I don't know for sure, maybe the recipient will hate it, there's just no telling but there's a way to find out. : )
