2022 Update

Happy New Year folks. I've created this website for all Highwaymen-related news. If you are interested in learning more about my own music and gigs, please visit www.mattyorkmusic.com

If you'd like to follow me on social media and music sites like Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, please visit this link. It's a big help to me when people follow those pages.

If you are a member of an LCC and learning more about the Highwaymen project, I can provide a brief summary here. Basically, I've been fortunate enough to be able to perform my own music throughout North America over the years. However, my music was heavily influenced by the members of The Highwaymen (Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson). Right before the pandemic, I thought it'd be fun to try and play some of their songs and weave in stories about their careers for listening audiences. Obviously, the pandemic squashed that very quickly.

However, in the spring of 2021, I began resuming playing Highwaymen gigs and people really enjoyed them. It was also suggested to me, that I should apply for cultural council grants in towns throughout the Commonwealth, which I did. It's looking like I'll be very busy in 2022 and I'm grateful for that. There are audio and video links on this page. Jay Miller of the Patriot Ledger also wrote an article recently about the project, that you can read here

Thanks for stopping by and if you have questions, please don't hesitate to email me at mattyorkpembroke@gmail.com.
